Disclaimer: The Art Nunz is a conceptual artwork and participatory performance project.
Founded in 2011 by artist and educator Carrie Ann Baade, the Art Nunz is not a religious organization, cult, or commercial entity. It exists as a living artwork at the intersection of ritual performance, and feminist art history. All ceremonies, names, and vows are symbolic and meant to inspire deeper commitment to creative practice.
The Art Nunz is inclusive and celebrates artists of all backgrounds, identities, and beliefs. Participation is voluntary and framed as an act of artistic devotion. Any resemblance to religious institutions, secret societies, or political organizations is purely conceptual, performative, and often satirical.
We believe in art, in mystery, in mischief—and in marrying your practice.
The Art Nunz do not proselytize. We do not sell salvation. We are not a religion.
We are an evolving artwork. You are witnessing a ritual of artistic commitment.
You are welcome here—whether as participant, witness, or skeptic.
